Admiral Paul E. Trimble Maritime Endowment Scholarship

This scholarship was established in memory of Vice Admiral Paul E. Trimble. Vice Admiral Trimble spent 38 years in active service in the U.S. Coast Guard. His service included patrol of both East and West Coasts during World War II, and 16 years as assistant commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard. While serving as assistant commandant, he also chaired a task force to organize the Federal Department of Transportation. After retiring from the Coast Guard in 1970, Vice Admiral Trimble became president of the Lake Carriers Association, a shipping trade organization based in Cleveland, Ohio. He also served on NMC"s Maritime Academy"s Board of Visitors, an industry advisory board, from 1972 to 1982.
