Eric & Hettie Molvang Scholarship Fund

Mrs. Hettie Molvang was a nursing instructor at NMC for 20 years. This scholarship was established in 1987 by her and her husband Eric. Hettie Molvang joined the faculty in 1974 and continued as a nursing instructor until her retirement in 1994, teaching in both clinical and lecture settings. Born in Great Britain, she worked as a nurse in field hospitals during World War II. She came to Cadillac after the war. Prior to her teaching, she worked at Mercy Hospital in Cadillac, where her husband was president of the former Cadillac State Bank. During her faculty tenure, Mrs. Molvang and her husband regularly loaned money interest-free to students who could not otherwise qualify for financial aid. This scholarship is a way of continuing that support for students in her retirement.
