Fivenson Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Fivenson Memorial Scholarship Fund is an endowed scholarship established in 1967 by Mr. Mitchell “Mickey” J. Fivenson of Traverse City to honor the memory of his parents, F.E. “Fy” and Zelma Fivenson. Mr. and Mrs. Fivenson owned F.E. Fivenson Company, a restaurant equipment, tobacco and candy store. Fy Fivenson was an original member of the Wigwam Club, a booster club preceding the current NMC Barbeque Board. A longtime supporter of NMC, Fy passed away in 1967. Son Mickey Fivenson took his first college class at NMC and still lives near campus where he often goes to run. Originally established as a scholarship for students in the hospitality field, the Fivenson Memorial Scholarship is now awarded to NMC students who are pursuing higher education in any field at NMC.
