Jane M. and Chester R. Jones Scholarship

NMC alumnus Thomas C. Jones established this scholarship in 1993 to honor the memory of his parents, lifelong residents of northern Michigan, who shared with their children a love of learning and the aspiration of higher education. After graduating from NMC in 1966, Thomas Jones then earned both his bachelors and masters of business degrees at the University of Michigan. His career led to executive positions in government and the insurance industry. In 1997, he was named President and Chief Investment Officer of CIGNA Investment Management, the global money management division of CIGNA Corporation. Jones was named an NMC Fellow in 1998. In establishing the Jane M. and Chester R. Jones Scholarship, he credits NMC as the place that gave him the foundation, skills and confidence to succeed.
