Janet & Ronald Jackson Nursing Scholarship

Janet & Ronald Jackson Nursing Scholarship

As a nursing student, Janet Jackson’s undergraduate studies were entirely supported by scholarships – tuition, uniforms, and books. This experience stayed with her and was a critical factor as she and her husband, Ronald, created this endowed scholarship for NMC nursing students. Janet, first joining Munson as a nurse, soon became an NMC faculty member. Her passion for NMC and the nursing program grew through the years. In 1974, she became director of the NMC nursing program and though she later returned to Munson to serve as chief nursing officer. Janet shared gratitude for the faculty and staff who inspired her during her NMC tenure, including Ernestine Johnson, Kathleen Donnelly, and many others. With this scholarship she and Ron hope to encourage students on this path of lifelong learning and care.
