Laura Olmsted Memorial Scholarship

Laura Olmsted Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 1952 by Mr. George E. Olmsted, an executive of Consumers Power in Traverse City, in memory of his wife, Laura, who died in 1951. Mr. Olmsted gave 100 shares of Consumers Power stock to NMC with the stipulation that dividends earned be used for scholarships to worthy students. Due to his wife"s interest in the study of the Spanish and French languages, the scholarship is awarded to students with particular interest and ability in foreign languages.
