Marion Weigand Memorial Scholarship

NMC alumnus Jim Weigand established this scholarship in 2000 in honor of his aunt, Marion Weigand, who was instrumental in his education. A native of Bingham, Ms. Weigand was a nurse at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City and retired as an anesthesiologist, one of the first women in the nation to hold such a position. By loaning her nephew the money to attend the University of Michigan after he graduated from NMC, Ms. Weigand was a key figure in Mr. Weigand"s education.
