Richard and Lucy Quinn Memorial Scholarship

Mr. Timothy Quinn, president of NMC 1989-96, established this scholarship in 1996 in memory of his parents. Richard and Lucy Quinn raised ten children in Romeo, Michigan. They strongly believed that education had the power to improve lives and supported three daughters who returned to school and rebuilt their lives after going through a divorce. Timothy Quinn viewed his parents" support as consistent with the mission of NMC, which enrolls many older students and single parents. During Quinn"s tenure, NMC created the University Center, which allows students to pursue advanced degrees while remaining in Traverse City. In particular, this fulfilled a need for older students bound to Traverse City by job and family commitments.
