Ruth and Clifford Foster Scholarship

Ruth and Clifford Foster Scholarship

The Ruth and Clifford Foster Scholarship is an endowed scholarship established in August 1996 by Mrs. Mary Rader in memory of her parents. A long-time resident of Glen Arbor, Mrs. Rader was most supportive of education and NMC, volunteering at the annual college barbecue for many years. Her parents, Ruth and Clifford Foster were both born into families with deep roots in Leelanau County. Ruth Foster passed away in 1931 when her daughter Mary was five years old and Clifford raised Mary and her three younger siblings. Mary Rader went on to become a registered nurse and both her daughter-in-law and granddaughter attended NMC.
